Bayou Books LLC is an independent photo book publisher that is rooted in documentary photography but seeks to push the bounds of those traditions.

Established in 2024 by Clayton Steward to publish his own work and the work of his friends, Bayou Books looks to get documentary style work off of online spaces and into tangible mediums. Giving full creative control to the artist's and away from traditional print publication structures of magazines and newspapers.

The name is inspired by Clayton's family's small business, Bayou Ready, which is a wetland management and dirt work company. His parents are senior financial and business advisors for Bayou Books.
