Mary Redmond embraces her husband, Dwain Dewey, before running to the store on Saturday, Nov 19, 2022. Dwain lives with Alzheimer's and Mary is his primary caregiver. 

Dwain talks to Mary at the dinner table at their home in Kansas City, Ks. The couple has been married for 33, almost 34, years after an elopement wedding that was held in a castle on Lake Tahoe.

Mary holds Dwain's hand as he lays in a hospital bed after suffering from a stroke he had at their kitchen table a week prior on May 10, 2023 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo. 

Mary puts Dwains hearing aids in. Mary visited and spent the majority of the each day at the hospital with Dwain while he was hospitalized. 

Mary tries to pay her taxes from her phone while in Dwain's hospital room. 

Mary talks to her sister who lives in France about how hard it has been to get Dwain moved into a hospice facility and shared her fears about the next stages. Dwain would eventually be transferred to the Kansas City Hospice House in the coming days. 

Mary's sister, Patricia, holds her granddaughter, Bella, while Mary talks to Dwain on May 11, 2023 at KU Medical Center. Bella is Dwain and Mary's great niece and Dwain was excited to see her and was able to hold her while she drank from her bottle.

Mary embraces Elaine Belardo, founder of the Deeper Window Association at Dwain's visitation service on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Dwain passed away with Mary by his side in the early hours of May 20th, 2023 in the Kansas City Hospice House. In his obituary it reads, "Dwain was an enthusiastic participant in the Deeper Window program for the final 18-

Mary embraces Sister Lucy and Sister Mary Rachel, volunteers at the Deeper Window, while talking to Deeper Window coordinator Sr. Vickie and Kipp and Leslie Price at the visitation service. Kipp, who also lives with Alzheimer's, was one of Dwain's close friends at the Deeper Window and Mary and Leslie would take turns driving their husbands to Leavenworth, Ks where the Deeper Window is located. 

Mary kisses Tom-Tom goodbye before going to pick up a friend before a party on Oct. 7, 2023 at her home in Kansas City, Ks. Mary lives alone now. She is in the process of moving out of the home that she shared with Dwain, opting to find an apartment as she figures out her next chapter. She is applying for jobs, going to baseball games with friends and continuing to find joy where she can.
